Leigh Battle loves helping a family realize their dream of owning a home so much that, in 1992, she left her part-time real- estate job with a $200 paycheck, a $3,000 commission and a checklist entitled “How to Open A Business on a Shoestring Budget” and started up her own real-estate company. Sixteen years later, that company — Regal Realty and Associates — is doing a booming business in Richmond, Henrico, Chesterfield, Hanover and the surrounding areas with upwards of $10 million in residential sales. As founder and chief executive of Regal Realty, she now presides over 12 independent agents and three brokers and has established two offices. 18th Annual Awards Gala as the MBL’s Entrepreneur of the Year. The recognition is a testament to her tenacity and success in a field dominated by larger companies with more affiliated agents and longer histories. As Regal Real Estate and Associates’ success and sales income has increased over the years, the commitment of Leigh and her agents to the regional community and to helping their clients reach their real-estate goals remains undiminished. For 16 years, they have continually partnered with the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority to help firsttime homebuyers with grants and down payments, so they can make the exciting leap from lease-holding tenants to title-bearing owners.

Leigh Battle is the Broker/Owner of Regal Realty &Associates. She is a progressive entrepreneur with over 30 years of experience. She is the founder of Regal Realty & Associates which specializes in commercial and residential sales. Ms. Battle’s experience in commercial real estate began in 1998 when she purchased a 5000 sq ft. building in the enterprise zone of downtown Richmond. Her experience as the General Contractor on this project resulted in a total renovation of 5000 sq ft. office space and two apartments. Her hands-on approach with this project gave her a working knowledge on development, historic tax credits, leasing and sales.
